The estimate information screen will gather the reference information for the estimate being created. Users should enter the estimate specifics pertaining to company name, part information and estimate date for future reference.
The estimate base quantity should be entered. If your customer is requesting a quotation for say 100, 500 and 1000 pieces. The base quantity would be the smallest quantity of 100. When it comes time to create the multiple piece quotation, KipwareQTE will automatically perform the calculations and amortization for the 500 and 1000 piece quantities based on the 100 base quantity used in the estimate.
Users can enter a scrap percentage based on the difficulty of manufacture and what they believe the percentage of scrap might be. They can also define where the scrap cost will be reflected. For example, if most scrap will occur during the initial preparation of the material, like in the sawing operation, they can select only material costs to be included in the scrap calculation. If scrap will most likely be produced during machining, they can select to have material, tooling and labor costs included in the scrap calculation. If the scrap will most likely be produced at the end of the manufacturing process, they can select to have all costs included in the scrap calculation.
