Tapered Radius Groove<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; an OD groove with tapered sidewalls with a a blend radius in between.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>O.D. Radius Groove<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; an OD groove that\u00a0does not contain straight sidewalls but is a complete radius.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">O.D. Ball<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; a spherical OD<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kentechinc.com\/kipware_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/menu_1.gif\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-264\" src=\"http:\/\/kentechinc.com\/kipware_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/menu_1.gif\" alt=\"menu_1\" width=\"612\" height=\"455\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In this post we would like to outline the O.D. TAPERED RADIUS GROOVE. Below is the conversational menu &#8230; and we have quite a few powerful machining options available to the user.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kentechinc.com\/kipware_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/screen_1.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-265 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/kentechinc.com\/kipware_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/screen_1.gif\" alt=\"screen_1\" width=\"1101\" height=\"708\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>ROUGHING\u00a0CYCLE<\/strong><\/span> for the\u00a0groove begins with a cut down the center of the groove &#8230; then the machining of the left side then right side of the groove. The user can define three types of cutting &#8230; PECKING with a chip break &#8230; PECKING with complete retraction &#8230; or STRAIGHT grooving. The user can also choose to perform the peck cycle ONLY during the first cut down the center of the groove &#8230; so the sidewall grooving will be done using a straight grooving type cut.\u00a0This is easily selectable using a simple checkbox.<\/li>\n<li>The user can select to perform ROUGH and \/ or FINISHING with the tool. So the\u00a0groove can be machined completely with one tool or the cycle can be invoked twice &#8230; once roughing and once finishing.<\/li>\n<li>The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>FINISHING CYCLE<\/strong><\/span> can be selected for a single pass &#8230; down the left side along the arc and then up the right side &#8230; or double pass meaning down the left side angle and along the arc to the center of the arc then up and over to the right side start point, down the right side angle and along the arc to the center of the arc.
