Conversational HOLE Cycles

 

 

 

This CHAPTER contains a listing and outline of the CONVERSATIONAL HOLE machining cycles available in KipwareM®.

 

Conversational cycles allow users to create G code for the specific shapes using only fill-in-the-blank forms ... no CAD model or drawing of any kind is required to create G code using these cycles. They are arranged in this listing on no particular order and the list is current as of the current release.

 

 

BOLT CIRCLE

This cycle creates G code to drill holes around a user defined BOLT CIRCLE. Using the user inputs for radius of the bolt circle, angle of the first hole, angle between the holes, number of holes in 360 degrees and number of holes desired ... KipwareM® will auto-calculate the hole X/Y locations. The type of drilling canned cycle can be user selected from the list :

GRID PATTERN

This cycle creates G code to drill holes around a user defined GRID PATTERN. Using the user inputs for number of holes in X, number of holes in Y, distance between the holes in X, distance between the holes in Y ... KipwareM® will auto-calculate the hole X/Y locations. The type of drilling canned cycle can be user selected from the list :

HOLES AT-AN-ANGLE

This cycle creates G code to drill holes around a user defined LINE AT-AN-ANGLE. Using the user inputs for angle of the line, number of holes in X, number of holes in Y, distance between the holes ... KipwareM® will auto-calculate the hole X/Y locations. The type of drilling canned cycle can be user selected from the list :

CUSTOM DRILL CYCLE

This cycle creates G code to drill holes using a user defined drill cycle. This cycle is designed for deep holes where user may wish to peck drill as set distance than change to peck drill with complete retraction to complete the hole. Complete user configuration is available for depth of each cycle, retract amount for cycle #1 as well as separate feedrates for each cycle. An unlimited number of hole locations can be input to repeat the cycle.

 

INDIVIDUAL HOLE

This cycle creates G code to drill holes using user defined X/Y locations. Locations can be configured using manual input or locations can be read from a DXF file. The type of drilling canned cycle can be user selected from the list :

DRILL NIBBLING

This cycle creates G code to drill holes in a straight line pattern, useful for roughing out a slot, for instance. Users can define the step-over-increment as well as # of holes in the pattern and define an X or Y type of pattern. Start of the pattern locations can be configured using manual input or locations can be read from a DXF file. Multiple drill nibbling patterns can be defined using the single form. The type of drilling canned cycle can be user selected from the list :
